Hi Neil/all. This may be slightly off topic here, but depending on your ticketing system, you could create a script action that automatically sends the ticketing system a command to create a case for you.
That would automate the ticket generation for you.
Could be something for the future.

Subject: [Xymon] Critical Systems page
Hi all,
I just wanted to get other peoples opinions on the critical systems page.
We are looking to implement this in the next couple of weeks to improve things for our operators. However we use Xymon in 2 ways,
1. Email alerts to various teams.
2. Icon alerts to operators.
This means that some tests we don’t need the operators to see when they are yellow but we do want them visible when they go red. Iknow we can do this with the All Non Green page using the NOPROP option butwhen we start using the critical systems page (which allows us to give instructions to our Ops) I can’t see any way to do the same. At the moment I am planning on setting certain tests where we don’t need an operator action on yellow (such as Disk) as Priority 3 so we can instruct Ops to ignore Priority 3 yellow alerts.
This isn’t ideal as I would really like to have things set up so that when it shows up on the critical systems page, it requires an action (even if it’s only raising a trouble ticket)
Does anyone else have this issue and have you found a way round it at all?
Also, is this ability to configure individual critical systems by alert colour something other people would like to see?
I know I can set the critical systems page to only show red but that is not an option as we do want to see some yellows and also any purples.

Neil Simmonds
