The protocol is defined in bb man page. If you're writing socket level code, you don't
have to execute the bb program, just open a socket to the server on port 1984 and issue
a status message.

Thanks.
Is there any documents about how the protocol works? I have done quiet a
bit of low level TCP programming when I was working for the Johannesburg
Stock Exchange and I would really like to get into the nitty gritty of
the hobbit protocol.
