change alert email text?

Hello,

Sorry if this is horribly ignorant. I'm rather new to the whole network 
administration biz. I've got alerts functioning nicely, but I'd like to 
change the text of the email that's sent out. Is there a cfg file 
somewhere I'm missing that I could edit?
