Note...you need to use GNU patch (which you can get from sunfreeware or blastwave along with the other GNU utilities needed).

I patched it on a Linux system and then copied it
over to the Solaris machine.
And the same when you compile, you have to use
GNU make and AR and so on .
I use make like this:
MAKE=/usr/sfw/bin/make ./configure.client
