Sorry, I meant to ask if you can telnet to it on port 1984, rather than
the default telnet port. So:
telnet 193.61.54.144 1984

Is xymond running?
Let's try to reproduce the conditions that would have led to the error
message. Try running this to see what it gives you:
xymoncmd xymon 193.61.54.144 'xymondboard fields=hostname,testname,**color
,flags,lastchange,**logtime,validtime,acktime,**disabletime,sender,cookie,**
line1,acklist'
