This sounds perfect. I don't know how I overlooked those options in the hosts.cfg man page before.
Thanks!

Hi,
Take a look at "delayyellow" and "delayred" in hosts.cfg

Emne: [Xymon] Delayed FILE NOEXIST Status Change?
I want to generate an alarm when an error file is detected, but only if the file is detected for two or more consecutive polling cycles.
My current configuration for monitoring and analyzing the results are as follows:
client-local.cfg
------------------
file:/tmp/error
analysis.cfg
-------------
FILE /tmp/error NOEXIST
This configuration generates an alarm (e.g. changes the file test status to red) as soon as the error file is detected.
Can the FILE NOEXIST rule be modified to include an MTIME>600 check to insure that the status change does not occur for short-lived problems?
Thanks,
Bob
