That looks about right.  You might want to just rename the old xymongen instead of overwriting it.  That way you can revert back if the new edition doesn't work properly.

/ecs_download/xymon-4.3.7/xymongen/pagegen.c

So ,after making the required change I will run

Make clean make (from the directory /ecs_download/xymon-4.3.7/xymongen)

This will generate the xymongen executable .I will have to overwrite this on  the xymongen executable currentlty in /home/hobbit/server/bin/xymongen .

Could you please confirm if this is correct .

You should be looking for pagegen.c in the original source, not in the installed folders.

I fear that the only solution would be to add the hostname to the htmlalttag, line 474 of bbdisplay/pagegen.c

You'll then have to recompile using make clean make and copy the resulting binary on your server.
However I was unable to find pagegen.c in the installed folders .Has this file changed in the later releases or are there alternate ways of doing the same change .
