Holly,
Can you try Paul's suggestion and let us know how it turns out, please?

Hi Holly. I'm wondering if [linux] matches your client ...
Try this in client-local.cfg:
[yourhost.domain.tld ]
log:/var/log/messages:10240
file:/etc/passwd:md5
ignore MARK
You may need to restart your hobbit client on
yourhost.domain.tld for
the changes to take effect.
