If the login credentials didn't work, it would alarm with a 403 or
somesuch, depending on how the site is configured.

   I have added following entried in thr bb-hosts file

 

    ipaddress  www.sitename.com  #http://uname:pass@www.sitename.com

 

 

i did not see anything regarding login checks in the gui.i have
mentioned wrong uname and password but i did not see error message on
the gui.i can just see site is up.please advise on this.is the any way
to mention just URL and monitor websites instead of giving ipaddress
url.

Oops!  Forgot about your login credentials.

If I am correct in assuming you want to check HTTP/S logins you make
that URL http://user:passwd@www.sitename.com/

The latter part of that is the test for the website.  The second column
is the name used that gets resolved for conn/ping tests (unless you have
testip).

i just want to mention only sitename and need to monitor websites

 

in the bb-hosts file i have mentioned some sites url like following

 

 www.sitename.com

 

but i could not able to see it on the GUI.plese help me to monitor
websites by specifying its url only.
