hobbitclient.log error Failed to get a message, terminating

Every 5 minutes I see the same error in my hobbitclient.log file: Failed 
to get a message, terminating

hobbit-client appears to be running fine, and reporting to the hobbit 
server.

I run the following and receive:

#su - hobbit -c '$HOME/bin/bb xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ping'

hobbit-4.2.0

Any ideas on what is causing this?
