<html><body>Hi

Issue resolved. MX record was pointing to a server that was taken off the domain.
I renamed the MX record and the mail alerts came through.

That's a lot for assistance.

First look in the notifications.log (/var/log/xymon) to see that it tried to send something.

Not the alerts.log but the mail.log under /var/log (most likely). Try running the 'mailq' command to see if they are stuck in queue. Can successfully send a mail from the command-line (use something like mailx)? If the mailq is showing lots of email or your server rejects you, it's likely a mailserver configuration issue.

This was a new install. The alerts.log file is empty /var/log/xymon/alert.log
No spam server in place.

Were they working before? What is in the mail log for the server? Are they stuck in the queue? Do you have a spam server that might be filtering them?
