devmon does SNMP polling but not SNMP traps.

The link http://cerebro.victoriacollege.edu/hobbit-trap.html is how I
have it set up. It's a bit of a fiddle to get running.

You also need to be aware that running MIBs through snmpttconvertmib
only passes through the vendor indicated severity. It is worse than
annoying when a critical failure event was classified by the vendor as
informational and you only find out after it happened! So you must
review the snmptt.conf file generated and reclassify as required.

You also need to review snmpttunknown.log regularly to check that you
have all relevant MIBs registered, and also that the traps you are
receiving were correctly defined in the MIB in the first place - at
least it's easy to fudge the snmptt.conf file to fix those. It's not
unusual to find devices generating traps that have an extra value in the
OID - for example I have 3 variants on Quantum tape library:

EVENT tapeLibNotifyShutdown .1.3.6.1.4.1.3764.1.10.10.1.3.0.0.2 "Status
Events" Normal
FORMAT An indication that the tape library agent is in the process of $*
#
EVENT tapeLibNotifyShutdown .1.3.6.1.4.1.3764.1.10.10.3.0.0.2 "Status
Events" Normal
FORMAT An indication that the tape library agent is in the process of $*

Events" Normal
FORMAT An indication that the tape library agent is in the process of $*

It can also be an iterative process to get this correct - I have devices
that have just one SNMP trap - essentially a method of reporting a
free-text string - so you then need to do regexp matching in snmptt to
get alerts more suitable to your needs.
