[Xymon] mounted disk character limitation?

Since the client version upgrade did fix the web display, how do we fix the graph problem?

Any ideas?

Original issue is: Mounted disks in Windows without a drive letter were not displaying on hobbit due to name truncation creating duplicate names (only the first 7 letters of the disk name), so multiple disks were showing up with the same name and only one graph was being generated. Upgrading to bbwin ver 0.13 resolved the issue of name display on the web page, but no graphs will generate.

Thanks!

Henrik? Do you still believe it’s a client issue, or maybe something with the server?

Thanks,

If the RRD files are not there in the first place then no, editing the graph config wont make any difference.

You need to find out why the RRD files aren't being created. I recreated this on our system and got the same result, RRDs not created for folder mounted drives, so it's nothing with your setup.

Looking at the Xymon source code for bbwin.c (http://xymon.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/xymon/branches/4.3.7/xymond/client/bbwin.c?revision=6804&view=markup) it calls the unix_disk_report function for the disk checks which is in xymond_client.c (http://xymon.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/xymon/branches/4.3.7/xymond/xymond_client.c?revision=6804&view=markup) - unfortunately that's why my tracking ends, I'm not a C programmer and not sure where to start debugging the code.

My guess is the folder mounted drives are unsupported by the main Xymon core.

Dan,

I assume you have checked that separate rrd files are being created for
all these disks/filesystems.

I found that when rrd filenames were of the format abc_def_ghk.rrd I
needed to change the graphs.cfg FNPATTERN line to abc_def_(.+).rrd from
abc_def_(.*).rrd to get it to create the graphs.

Names are like:

TempDB_Data23
TempDB_Data24
Etc...
Etc...

My hobbitgraph.cfg already has a couple disk defaults in it.

What would I have to do? I have no idea what you're referring to?

Thanks,

What are the drive names like? Have you looked in graphs.cfg on the
xymon server to see whether you can create a new stanza to match your
rrds.

Thank you for this, but this does not resolve my issue.

I can now see the full drive names displayed on the hobbit page, but my
graphs do not build. The issue before was that I had truncated names
and only one graph for all of them since it was a duplicate name. Now
the graphs will not build at all for anything other than my drives with
an assigned drive letter.

Any ideas?
