Hi,
I've created a bug report on the xymon bug tracker on SF regarding this, but since this mailing list seems a bit more active, I'll give it a try as well :)
We are running Xymon 4.2.3. The IGNORE option in client-local.cfg doesn't
seem to work properly. We are getting flooded with "partial" messages
(things we have defined an ignore pattern for). For example; we are
filtering out some log messages on our VMware ESX hosts in the form of:
LOG %/var/log/esx.* %\S IGNORE=%pattern1|pattern2|pattern3 COLOR=yellow
But small portions (like cut-offs) of those pattern-matched messages are
still triggering alarms quite often. Example:
---
Warnings in /var/log/esx03.log
st family for guestos: winServer2008Standard-64
---
Warnings in /var/log/esx05.log
b07155509" failed to authenticate
---
Any clues?
Regards,
Johan
