Have you looked at the wiki for hobbit/xymon???
http://en.wikibooks
org/wiki/System_Monitoring_with_Xymon/Administration_Guide
Look at section 10.1
If you are using openssh to tunnel:
ssh -L <PORT>:<targetserver>:<target port>:<[user (at) ]Server in the middle>
So going to a server in the tz is easily done, BUT, do check with your
security management and the server SA, especially if you are doing a bunch
of connections...
Technology is easy, Politics not so...

Subject: [hobbit] SSH Tunnels and Xymon
Hi Guys
We just setup a SSH tunnel link between our Main Hobbit server and several
external sites. I just wanted to check with you wizards out there about
which ports I need for full Xymon monitoring. From what I understand port
1984 has to be open? The connection test is my main concern which ports
needs to be open for Xymon to run a connection test?
Regards
Neil
