I have done a trivial port. I am sure an actually python coder could do

We used dmidecode on most of our Dell clients anyway for bb-cpu2.sh anyway
so it is already set up for sudo.

Checked on two RH Linux boxes running on HP and IBM hardware,
Serial number is in dmidecode but dmidecode from RH doesn't take "-s" option
to show only serial number. So more parsing work needed.

"Nice to have" feature but not a "must have" to me.

Hi !

Today, a nagios dell_warranty-check script was a released,
which looks pretty great and easy to integrate to xymon ...

.. it needs root-permisssion ...

[pal34] /usr/lib/hobbit/client/ext/check_dell_warranty.py

Warranty start date: 7/24/2008 End date: 7/23/2011 Days left: 787

.. is there anybody to help or maybe likes it's so much too,
but have more coding experience/praxis as me .. :-(

thanks & cheers,

Martin

P.S.: Has somebody got more nagios-pluggins integrated .. ?

I don't plan on spamming y'all with release announcements but given that
this fixes a rather stupid bug, wherein the plugin does not return the
right status I thought I would let you folks know that I have released
version 1.1 of this plugin, location is the same:

http://www.monitoringexchange.org/cgi-bin/page.cgi?g=Detailed%2F3094.html;d=1

And again if you run into any issues please let me know.

Thanks to David Sparks for noticing this problem and letting me know.
