Hi Josh,
Issue 1 - Now, if I look at status page, the status is red, but I can
ping the ip from the hobbit server

Issue 1 - what is your hobbit-alert.conf
Issue 2 - no hobbit uses the mail command. Can you give us more detail
as to what the email error is?
