Well - a "1.2.1.2" version really *is* older than 1.2.3.
According to www.zlib.net "Version 1.2.3 eliminates potential
security vulnerabilities in zlib 1.2.1 and 1.2.2, so all users
of those versions should upgrade immediately."
The reason you didn't see the problem with the April snapshots
was that zlib wasn't used back then.

Different problem, the zlib test in Hobbit back then used
some non-standard ZLIB macros.
