Re: [hobbit] Need help in hobbit monitor

to 3)

i think NOCOLUMNS is want you want ....

NOCOLUMNS:column[,column]
Used to drop certain of the status columns generated by the Hobbit client. column is one of cpu, disk, files, memory, msgs, ports, procs. This setting stops these columns from being updated for the host. Note: If the columns already exist, you must use the bb(1) utility to drop them, or they will go purple.

man5/bb-hosts.5.html

They're purple because they have not been updated in a while (30m I think?)

1) The server includes the web page building, alerting, etc. It's what you
use to view the status of everything. The client simply collects a little
bit of data and sends it to the server.
2) Those columns are updated via the client. Install the client and make
sure the client and server matches the same hostname and you'll see them
being updated.
3) Specify something to make it go green/red, otherwise I believe you have
to deal with the white.

  HI All,

We are monitoring about 100 hosts using hobbit monitor. it was working
fine. but from yesterday onwards I see purple icons for cpu, disk, memory on
the webpage. What caused this problem? How can I get this resolved?

  Some questions:-

1) What is the difference between client side client installation (.
/configure ?client selection client during installtion) and server side
client installation (selection server option during installation)

2) For some hosts I don't see CPU, disk, memory status on webpage I
do see only conn, ssh.how do I get all the status on the webpage

         3) by default I see *files, msgs, ports and procs* status are white
color. if I don't want to monitor files, msgs, ports and procs how do I get
rid of those entries showing on the webpage.basicall I want to see only
conn,cpu,disk,info,memory,ssh and trends.

Please get back to me on this?..Thanks in advance.

Thanks
