And even if the disk is not full, check to see if you've run out of inodes: df -ithat happens to me every so often and I have to do the same thing as if the disk filled up, run through the trimhistory process.
Eventually, I should recreate that filesystem with more inodes, but this doesn't happen that often (luckily).
