Are you compiling with -prefix flags? Where is the y/server coming from?
Have you modified any of the files in the release you downloaded?

What distro are you running? You might want to try a package.

I know little about compiling and coding, but is BBHOME supposed to look
like this?

Are you root when you do a make install?
