snoop is the default network monitoring tool on sunos. you can also use 
tcpdump from sunfreeware and filter directly when you capture
what the box sends to port 1984.

snoop -i qfeX -o mycapture.cap port 1984

then open the mycapture.cap with your favourite wireshark/ethereal.
