marking significant events on the trend charts

One feature that I've always wanted and am asked for quite a bit, is the
ability to add some kind of mark on the trend charts to record a
significant event. For example, if my company makes a major code
release and our metrics improve greatly, the ability to add some kind of
line or marker to the trend chart that shows the turning point to lower
CPU usage, more httpd requests, etc.
Is that even an option that could be worked into Hobbit?
