How do I debug a hobbit client?

I'm trying to get the hobbit client running on AIX (5.3 TL-02) -- and
while it starts, and stays up, it's not generating a 'msg.txt' file.

Here's all I've got in the log:

2007-01-04 14:41:32 hobbitlaunch starting
2007-01-04 14:41:32 Loading tasklist configuration from
/usr/local/bbuser/client/etc/clientlaunch.cfg
