gmake install fails: 4.1.2p1 on OpenBSD 3.8

MAKE=gmake ./configure
works.
gmake
works.
gmake install
fails, in the common directory, as it cannot find version.h and libbbgen.h
(which ARE in the hobbit-4.1.2p1/include directory, with config.h by this
point) for the building of bbhostgrep.o. I don't understand why this is
being recompiled, as the bbhostgrep executable file is in the common
directory as a result of the
gmake
command.
Let me know what output you want to see, and I'll generate it and post it
as a followup.
