Shouldn't this have been
 ~/bin/bb 127.0.0.1 "rename hostname,domainname hostname"
 (comma instead of period)?

Is there error-checking to prevent the use of periods in the rename
command (or alter them to become commas)? A casual look at hobbitd.c
isn't revealing any.

All of my hosts have disappeared from my display.  I wanted to have my
hobbit server show up as hostname instead of hostname.domainname.  I
changed
it in bb-hosts, then I ran ~/bin/bb 127.0.0.1 "rename
hostname.domainname
hostname".
