Ok, this prompted me to get off my CentOS 8.5 server. Here are the steps I
used to get a basic xymon server compiled/installed/running this morning:
Minimum OS installation
Enable CodeReady_Builder in oracle-linux-ol9.repo (for rrdtool-devel rpm)
Install these rpms:
oracle-epel-release-el9
c-ares-devel
fping
gcc
libtirpc-devel
make
openldap-devel
openssl-devel
pcre-devel
rrdtool-devel
httpd
http-tools
mod_ssl
systemctl enable httpd
firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-service=http
firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-service=https
firewall-cmd --reload
Verify SELINUX setup (enforcing requires additional configuration for httpd)
Start the xymon server
Verify you can get to the webpage
Hope this helps!
