[Xymon] Xymon server on vmWare?

I have seen packet drops towards the Xymon server when the Vmware host has been overloaded. The solution was to ensure that the Xymon server gets enough priority.

We run our Xymon server as a VM, and have for many years with no problems. It has the added bonus of doing Snapshots and full Vm backups when updates or changes need done.

Subject: [Xymon] Xymon server on vmWare?

For the past 20 years, we've run our Xymon/Hobbit/Big Brother server on
a host independent of the majority of our infrastructure. I'm now
considering installing at least one of our servers (probably with
CentOS) on vmWare ESX.

Has anyone experienced difficulty with this?

I'm currently wondering about the interaction of xymonnet with the
virtual NIC.
