Hi Henrik,
Thanks for the email, but I’m missing some configuration item.
Here’s the configuration on the master:
XYMONEXNETWORK="lzb_rackspace"
And here’s a host definition:
10.20.3.136 608410-prodapp1.lazboy.com # NET:lzb_rackspace nonongreen NOPROPRED:+*
Here’s the remote poller:
XYMONNETWORK="lzb_rackspace"
XYMONSERVERIP="my.xymon.server.ip"
XYMSRV="my.xymon.server.ip"
I disabled xymond and enabled xymonnet and xymonproxy, then started xymon with xymonnet in debug. The log shows xymonnet opening the hosts.cfg file and parsing hosts.d files (which there are none) and then goes into network tests. It never displays anything about contacting xymond and only returns a status for itself.

I am setting up a remote xymonproxy/xymonnet system that will report back to my central server. My question is, do I have to duplicate the hosts.cfg on the xymonproxy host for the systems I want it to network test or is there a way to tell xymonnet to get that list from the xymond server on my master display server?
xymonnet already does that by default. See this mail from February about setting up a secondary network test server: http://lists.xymon.com/archive/2017-February/044355.html
