The general process for upgrading xymon would involve a backup of your 
dataset and configs, then a make install on top, and re-import config 
settings over if anything has changed in an incompatible way.

This really depends on your original install method, however. If 
packaged, ideally the packaging should take care of a lot of this for 
you (safety-wise) and leave you with just the final step and anything 
that can't be upgraded "in place".

I do not recall any specific reasons that would preclude upgrading 
directly from 4.3.19 to .27. There were a number of changes to CGIs in 
the middle, but .19 was after the "big" change to getting rid of the 
shell wrappers, which at least removes that aspect for you.

I would pay closest attention to any unusual characters in hostnames and 
testnames, and to making sure that your apache configuration 
incorporates the CSP/security fixes in the latest sample snippets.
