On my server, notifications which are sent by email from the xymon
server are logged in /var/log/xymon/notifications.log

Xymon does not normally use ssh as its communication channel. On the
Xymon server, the daemon listens on TCP port 1984. Clients connect and
push messages in, or pull configs out. This communication happens
unencrypted.
