Yes, this is how it works, probably due to the history of this being used
for sending messages to pagers. The man page probably could be clearer on
the format produced.
There doesn't appear to be an equivalent env var to show the IP in its
normal (for humans) form.
The code also doesn't seem to know about IPv6. But that's another story.
