[Xymon] Installing pcre2 10.0.0

Hi,
May be this is not the correct site to ask about PCRE, however I'm installing thit library in order to set up XYMON,
And the configure script of PCRE stops with this message:.....
checking for link... link -lib
checking the archiver (link -lib) interface... unknown
configure: error: could not determine link -lib interface
Someone knows what file/etc is missing to PCRE...???
