[Xymon] dropping a column question

I don't think that's possible.

Don't forget what the xymon client is really doing. You are sending a command to the xymon server using the xymon client.  The client has no idea what the message means or if its even valid. All it knows is whether or not it successfully delivers the message. It's returning status based on that.
