Hi,
So, I've researched this problem quite a bit - I've setup 3 different Xymon-environments so far, all on CentOS 5.5 64bit, a 4.2.3-stable environment from Buchans rpms, a 4.3.0-b2-environment from the current branch and a brand new 4.4.0-dev-branch. I've worked with 4.2.3/4.3.0 clients on all 3 environments, and ALL of the clients causes hobbitd_client to core dump on ALL of the xymon-servers (4.2.3/4.3.0/4.4.0) doing this in client-local.cfg:
[host.dk]
log:/home/bounce/mailbounce/rttdiff.txt:10240
log:/home/bounce/mailbounce/bouncediff.txt:10240
- just inputting these 2 lines makes the hobbitd_client core dump every time the client connects. Removing the two lines and putting something like:
[host.dk]
file:/home/xymon/client/logs/hobbitclient.log
file:/home/xymon/client/logs/clientlaunch.log
file:/home/bounce/mailbounce/rttdiff.txt
file:/home/bounce/mailbounce/bouncediff.txt
into the client-local.cfg works just fine.
I have the following in hobbit-clients.cfg if it makes a difference:
HOST=host.dk
FILE /home/xymon/client/logs/hobbitclient.log RED SIZE<1024K TRACK
FILE /home/xymon/client/logs/clientlaunch.log RED SIZE<1024K TRACK
LOG /home/bounce/mailbounce/bouncediff.txt
LOG /home/bounce/mailbounce/rttdiff.txt
PROC httpd 1 10 RED TRACK=httpd
PROC hobbitlaunch 1 1 RED
So my question is, what do I do wrong when trying to monitor a file for a certain content?

Emne: [xymon] hobbitd_client core dumps when starting a 4.3.0 client
Hi,
I suddently have this problem on my 4.4.0-1 environment: When I start a 4.3.0-beta2 client on a CentOS 5.5 64bit server, hobbitd_client core dumps after a few minutes. And Im not quite sure whats causing this. Could it be because of the 4.3.0 client is incompatible with the 4.4.0 server? I've recently changed hobbitclient.sh to use SUDO logfetch, dunno if that could be causing this problem.
When I use gdb on the core-dump:
This GDB was configured as "x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu".
