I think you are supposed to use an IP of 0.0.0.0 when you reuse a host name, and you need to use "noconn" so Xymon won't try to ping it. It "thinks" that every new entry in bb-hosts is another host to test, which is why it is giving you the errors that it does. You will probably have to use some additional commands to make sure that your display only contains the columns that you want.

When you get this done you will find that it is a lot of work to maintain, and will not scale easily. Your operational process should be built around the "exception" list (bb2.html) instead of page after page of colored dots. That provides a single page for operations to watch, and they should manage the event list "to zero" and everything will be fine.

Subject: [hobbit] issue for purple ssh and host appearing twice error and illegal attempt to update errors
hi,
i have restructered the bb-hosts file like
page rack161 Row1-Rack6 conn
1.2.3.4 a.b.c.d #
3.4.5.6 e.b.c.d #
page rack162 cpu
1.2.3.4 a.b.c.d #
3.4.5.6 e.b.c.d #
page rack163 disk
1.2.3.4 a.b.c.d #
3.4.5.6 e.b.c.d #
as we have 40 racks each rack has nine nodes in it.i wanted to display all tests on front page hence such setting is done.
now i get :
1)ssh is purple
2)host appearing twice error
3)illegal attempt to update errors
how to rectify this?
