The log feature is really intended mostly for real application logs, not
for creating messages for diagnostic scripts. These should rather report
directly to Hobbit/Xymon. For example, have you tried the prtdiag script
from the Deadcat site ? It works fine with Hobbit/Xymon, and provides
most of the info you added to your "log" file ...
