Somewhat of a security risk; when using sudo, I recommend using 
full path to the executable: 
sudo /bin/ls /your/file

and in your /etc/sudoers file:

# Hobbit may run /bin/ls but flags are not allowed
hobbit   ALL = NOPASSWD: /bin/ls [!-]*
