Problem with Event Log Report

I've just had a confirmed report of a Hobbit 4.2 install where the Event 
Log Report is not functioning properly. There were a slew of red alerts 
in the past 24 hours, yet try as I might, I am unable to get any of them 
to display. The events do exist as I can see them in the availability 
report, as well as the specific service history link.

I'm using the default 1440 mins, and "red" for color. I tried all colors 
".*" as well as "red|yellow|green" and still nada.

I checked out the hobbit logs, and see a few of these in the cgierror.log:
*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice

I also see a few of these "Weird file" messages, but they aren't from today:
2008-02-27 23:34:45 Weird file 
'/users/hobbit//data/hist/ProdSite-1.conn' skipped

Any pointers on the best way to troubleshoot this?
