Reducing RRD and history log files

Hi,

how can I reduce the history logs und RRD files hobbit creates. I have a 
constant growth of these files. Hobbit isn't running for a year now, so I 
don't know if they will be limited when the year ist full.
Does hobbit need the historylogs for some tasks or can I delete them from 
time to time.
