Hobbit loop

Every 2 or 3 days we have situation where Hobbit (or something on the 
machine that it's running on) appears to go in to a loop.

I have top running in batch mode, piping the output to a file.  It is in 
a 'forever' loop executing every minute.  Is there anything else I 
should be running to try to track this down?
