Using "0.0.0.0" as the IP is the right way of setting up hosts with
no fixed IP address.

Yes - you add a '~' (tilde) in front of the tests where you want the
real status displayed, regardless of the "conn" test results. Like
10.0.0.1 vip.foo.com # ~smtp ~http://vip.foo.com/

Actually, I'm just soaking up all of the bright ideas that float by on
the mailing list. Then I implement them and people wonder how I can
think of all these great features. It works both ways - we all benefit
from this.
