[hobbit] Status not available?

What's in your webserver error-logs ? While you're at it, see if there
are any ominous-sounding messages in the Hobbit logfiles in
/var/log/hobbit/ .


What happens if you run

  QUERY_STRING="HOSTSVC=some,server,name.conn" REQUEST_URI="" ~hobbit/cgi-bin/bb-hostsvc.sh
