<p class=MsoNormal>Using the ‘route:’ keyword, is there a way to
create dependencies when you are using a Cisco router with 2 T-1s using Cisco
Express Forwarding (CEF)?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>I have a remote router that has 2 T-1s balancing using
CEF. Behind this router are multiple devices that need to not alert if
both T-1s are down.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>This would be very similar to have a single T-1 line to the
remote site except I have to be able to group both T-1s together.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Can you do something like:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> Near
end router: Ethernet port Local-Eth<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> Near
end router: Serial 0 and Serial 1 Local-S0 and
Local-S1<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> To<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> Far
end router: Serial 0 and Serial 1 respectively Remote-Eth<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> Far
end router: Ethernet port
Remote-S0 and Remote-S1<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> To
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> Rest
of the network at the remote site
e.g. Remote-Switch<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Can you group devices together using ()’s?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Something like:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> I
want Remote-Switch to depend upon both T-1s being down:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> 10.10.10.10
Local-Eth<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> 10.10.20.20
Local-S0<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> 10.10.20.21
Local-S1<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> 10.10.20.22
Remote-S0<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> 10.10.20.23
Remote-S1<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>
10.10.30.30
Remote-Eth<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> 10.10.30.31
Remote-Switch # route:Remote-Eth,(Remote-S0,Remote-S1),Local-Eth<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> Would
this work?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> This
says that the Remote-Switch needs to have the Remote-Eth (Ethernet) connection as
a dependency.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> It
also needs both T-1s up and the Local-Eth (Ethernet) connection up.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> CEF
is a Cisco balancing protocol for multiple same connections to a remote
location.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> If
one T-1 is down, the other T-1 will be tasked with handling all the traffic.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> When
the down T-1 returns, it again participates in the traffic load.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
