[hobbit] OS Compatibility

I run the Hobbit client on SuSE Linux Enterprise System (SLES) 9 and 10.
These are 64bit systems on an IBM Mainframe.

Thanks to Rich Smrcina, I also have a specialized Hobbit client running
on z/VM 5.1 which is also a 64bit IBM system.
