you can simply add an entry to your bb-hosts like below :
0.0.0.0      www.google.co.uk    # noconn     http://www.google.co.uk
this will create an entry in the current page or subpage for www.google.co.uk. (you can even remove the noconn if you wish to ping the destination www.google.co.uk).

I did some searching and found bb-checkweb, but there is no documentation. I have added the .pl script to the ext directory and added the required files to etc as well. I have just amended the hobbitlaunch.cfg with 
[bb-checkweb]
        ENVFILE /usr/libexec/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg
        CMD $BBHOME/ext/bb-checkweb.pl
        LOGFILE $BBSERVERLOGS/bb-checkweb.log
        INTERVAL 1m

How do I use it now?

Any other help with webmonitoring would be great.
