Does anyone know if there's going to be a gui wrapper around the config of this? I am reasonably impressed by the window client's abilities (just fired it up on one of my windows nodes), but I can tell that the windows sysadmins here will be a bit put off by having to manually make registry entries, and manually edit the xml config file. (It's one thing for us unix-dudes(or dudettes) to edit hobbit config items, but I know the windows guys like the gui way. The (older, yet still mostly functional) BBNT client is quite easy to install, configure, and run. I'm hoping that's what we ultimately end up with for the hobbit windows client!

Hi all
I have been asleep for a while, and not monitoring what's been going on, but can anybody tell me the status of the Windows client?
When I last paid close attention to the list, the client was in beta, and if I recall, did a pretty OK job. (I installed it on a test system)
But that was at the old job.
New job, new Hobbit installation, and the Windoze crowd want to see the client.
What's news?

0.8 has been released :-)

I had been very wary of this client until about 10 mins ago when I installed and configured it and I also must say I'm reasonably impressed. The migrate from BBNT script had me up and running in about 60 seconds without having to worry about the config file and setting everything from scartch.

Is there a separate mailing list for the windows client or are we all putting together here on the hobbit list ?

I have a few more questions and want to make sure they are going to the right place :)

Cheers

Allan
