Maybe you can point him to the Availability reports (where he can generate a
spreadsheet) to keep him occupied ...

The trend graphs are generated from the rrd files, in data/rrd. You can use
'rrdtool dump ...' to extract the data to xml (and maybe he can import that
into a spreadsheet). The various rrdtool man pages ('man rrdtutorial' may be
a good start) are worth consulting.
