[Xymon] Output of PROCS test

Thanks Zak. Outlook was never a strong area for me.

I also realized after I sent the original request that I could substitute a script instead of MAIL in the alerts.cfg file. That way I can manipulate or reformat the notification however I like before passing it on without affecting any xymon internals. I played with that for a while and then decided to not pursue it since it really isn't that big a problem the way it stands.

But I will have the complaining user check these settings in Outlook.

It's this setting in Outlook (in Windows anyway):

I believe that's the case. It's generally worked fine for me with the Mac version of Outlook, but I may have changed the default settings.

The color indicator sections of the tests has had additional escaping for web display added in the past couple of versions, but it's still basically just a giant PRE-wrapped section. As such, there are no BR tags; standard unix newlines are present.

As far as modifications, unfortunately that's limited to the footer and header changes on page displays. From the date and "line1" header to the bottom of the raw output, client data link, and RRD graphs (if any), it's all handled by library code which you'd need to patch to tweak.

-jc

Actually this may just be an Outlook setting issue. Works fine for me but not others. Probably the default html, plain text, rich text setting.

Is there an easy way to change the format of the PROCS test output? Mainly adding an extra linefeed or newline to the test summary at the top.

Works fine on the web display but the email notices run all tests into one line. Making it difficult to read for systems that are checking on a lot of processes.

e.g.

yellow Wed Sep 14 10:04:46 CDT 2016 - Processes NOT ok &green atd (found 2, req. 1 or more) &green ntpd (found 1, req. 1 or more) &green postfix/master (found 1, req. 1 or more) &green %/tripwire.*/java (found 1, req. 1 or more) &green vmtoolsd (found 1, req. 1 or more) &yellow httpd (found 0, req. 3 or more) &green cron (found 1, req. 1 or more) &green sshd (found 2, req. 1 or more) &green syslog (found 1, req. 1 or more) &green splunkd (found 2, req. 1 or more) &green hpsmhd (found 0, req. at most 0) &green elxhbamgrd (found 0, req. at most 0) &green clamscan (found 0, req. at most 0)

Server RHEL 6

Xymon server 4.3.27

If it makes a difference, I am using hobbit v4.2.0 on most (if not all) of my client systems.
